Why should I insulate my boats hull or roof? Well thermally metal boat hulls offer terrible insulation performance both acoustically and thermally. With a lightweight easy to fit product, you can change the treated areas thermal conductivity considerably.  With the addition of a sound deadening material you can reduce the background noise (including rain noise) considerably.  I'll use this blog to advise you of possible acoustic and thermal treatment methods for your boat hull or roof.

3M Thinsulate TC1803 Hydrophobic Marine Sound & Thermal Insulation

3M Thinsulate Marine Insulation Hydrophobic

Fit the 3M Thinsulate hydrophobic marine insulation on top of the ButylMAT marine sound deadening for great themal results.  It is compressible, conformable and flexible.  It can be layered for enhanced performance. It is 21mm nominal thickness so takes up only a small amount of space and is not as messy as other alternatives.  It may also be replaced locally in areas in the future if you need to change electrical cabling or when adding features to your pride and joy!

New to our range is a laminate marine sound deadening and thermal insulation product if it is of interest to fit only one product.  Sold on 1.0m x 0.6m rolls this high performance laminate offers a sound reduction of 27db and is great thermally.  All you do is simply bond the dense acoustic barrier layer to the hull or roof and let the product do its dual layer job of acoustically and thermally enhancing your boat!
